Walking with llamas or alpacas at these locations near Ottawa is the perfect way to relax and spend time outside. Especially this year, time in nature with some sweet new friends is exactly what you need.
Tip: llamas and alpacas are calm animals and they do not like a lot of excitement. Being in their presence is incredibly calming. Just make sure that you and your guests stay calm, too, and you’ll get along splendidly with the animals. The owners at all locations know their animals well and will coach you on how to say hello and interact with the animals.

Serendipity Farms
This lovely llama and alpaca farm can be found just outside of Perth, Ontario. This is where I went to walk with llamas! The farm is a beautiful property home to dozens of alpacas and llamas. Book a walk for starting at $20 per llama.
Make a day of it: after your walk, stop in the nearby town of Perth, Ontario for lunch. Enjoy food and drinks on a patio then go for a walk at Stewart Park. Step in to Perth Chocolate Works for a treat before your drive back to Ottawa. Where to eat: The Locks Perth, Mex & Co, The Stone Cellar, Fiddlehead Bar & Grill.
Maple Hill Urban Farm
Bring your household to walk with alpacas at Maple Hill Urban Farm, located just outside of downtown Ottawa. For $50 you and up to four people can roam the farm with your new alpaca besties. Add additional adults for $10 and additional children for $5.
Make a day of it: from Maple Hill Urban Farm, you’re not far from Andrew Hayden Park or Britannia Park. Take a picnic and enjoy some time outside after your alpaca walk!
Jock River Alpaca & Llama Farm
Take a hour-long walk along the Jock River with at this farm just outside of Ottawa. The price is $35 per furry best friend. Enjoy a hike through a forest and along a river with an alpaca or llama friend.
